A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to improve production for this repeat Kiva borrower with a good payment history.

Linet's story

Meet this nice and zealous mom, Linet.

Life in Kericho, Kenya, is a struggle for everyone, but for a peasant farmer like Linet, it’s even harder. Linet is a professional farmer and has been in the farming business for nine years, during which she has been successful. She grows and sells crops. She also has a personal business. (She is pictured with her clothing selling business.)

Linet has been able to purchase a cow and some poultry, as well as being able to construct various structures on her farm. These commercial activities place her in a better position to engage in other agricultural businesses, which she does.

Linet dreams that through farming she will be able to pull away from poverty and see to it that all her children successfully complete their studies. She is visionary and keen to ensure that she keeps on progressing.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, has extended its services to the remote areas in the Kericho region of Kenya, and its staff is keen to ensure that hardworking women like Linet benefit from loans that should enable them to purchase farming inputs.

Linet is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs.

Through this intervention, she will be able to improve the quality of her farm products.

Please support her during this raining and planting season and make her life bright!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals and farming equipment.
