This is Rugarama Tukwatanise Group, located in Mbarara municipality. The members are into agriculture majoring in banana growing as their main sources of income. They also do cattle farming to supplement their income.
Peace is a married woman with children who attend school. Just like other group members, she grows bananas on a commercial level as her main source of income. On harvest, she supplies the bananas to the food markets in Mbarara and other regions, which provides her with income to support her husband with the family expenses.
Peace has applied for a loan through the group from UGAFODE to buy organic fertilizers for her banana plantation, in order to improve the quality and quantity of her farm yields. She is hopeful that her income will increase since good yields attract good prices.
Peace appreciates the funders for the support that will improve her farming. She is hardworking and honest, as described by her group colleagues. The extra person behind (second left) is also saving with the group; she signed the waiver form.
