A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Eunice's Group's story

Eunice, pictured above, has been a farmer for four years and is now proud to represent her group of eight farmers in Kimilili District, Kenya. She is 30 years old, married and has four children.

Eunice likes to think of herself as a very hard-working individual. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2016 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to spread the story of One Acre Fund farmers. She says that being part of this community has meant she has been able to consistently feed her family. Eunice plans to use the profits from this coming season to invest in a business.

In total, Eunice’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate five acres of land. Some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light with this loan and thus, a total of two such lights will also be received.

In this group: Eunice, Collins, Judith, Henry, Everlyne, Medrine, Elkan, Janet

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
