A loan helped to pay laborers to rebuild her market stall and buy more cash crops.

Paulini's story

Rain, hail or shine, Paulini, aged 54, sells her vegetables to support her family of 5. This business has been a source of income for her family. But without proper shelter to protect her stock from the elements, her days are long and difficult.

She is seeking a 8,000 FJD loan to build a small lean-to that will make her vegetable stall more secure and comfortable. She also needs to carry extra stock on her stall. When sales are good, she earns enough for a day. But with a permanent stall, Paulini is sure she can improve her takings, and dreams of one day building her own home.

Poor weather conditions is one of her challenges because of the leakages. She is thankful to SPBD for giving her a loan.
