A loan helped a member to buy bamboo posts and betel plant shoots to extend her betel leaf farming business.


Moe Moe's Group's story

The featured borrower, Moe Moe, is 34 years old, who lives with her family in “Twontay” Township. Betel leaf farming is the main income source for her family. Her two daughters are studying in high school.

Now she is growing over 2500 betel leaf plants, has nearly ten years of experience in the industry. She picks betel leaves every two weeks and sells at the biggest vegetable market of Yangon city by herself. She plans to extend her betel farm, so she needs to buy bamboo posts and betel plant shoots. That’s why she is asking a loan to invest in her betel farm. She uses most of her profit in education costs for her children, and to donate for social affairs in the village.

She wants her child to graduate from university, she saves regularly to fulfill her children’s aim. She thanks lenders because of supporting people to improve their income generation activities.
