Talia's story

Less than 1% of all business revenue in Memphis comes from people of color owned businesses yet 70% of the population is people of color. My dream is to change that. I'm a college freshman with a passion for computer science and fashion. I grew up in Memphis and was told by my parents that anything is possible if I put my heart and mind to it. Over the past two years, I've been part of the LITE Memphis program. LITE trains young entrepreneurs of color like myself from age 17 to age 25 to create wealth in our communities. LITE selects 50 students out of 2,000 applicants and I was one of the 50 students who was selected to live out their dreams. My vision is to disrupt the fashion industry by making luxury handbags more accessible.
