Martha, age 37, is an enterprising mother who has known how to get ahead with the support of her parents. She was able to generate income in her family by beginning to plant one hectare of coffee. Martha lives in the neighborhood of La Mushca de Huarango, in San Ignacio, Perú, and has two children who help in her business. With the income from the sale of coffee, each year she has been improving the family home.
She needs the loan to buy fertilizer, to weed her farm, and to improve the production of her coffee crop; with the profits, it will be possible for her children to continue in school.
Martha is sure that, with the loan she receives, she will be able to have more opportunities to grow, and as a woman, she feels more empowered to take on obligations that will help with her personal and family development.
