A loan helped a member to buy fertilizer for rice, cassava, and corn farming.

Nua Ngam 52 Group's story

Doi, age 40 and first from the right, is married and lives with her husband, her father-in-law and three daughters in Vietnam's northwest mountainous area. She and her husband work hard on her farm to cover living expense for her family and pay tuition for her children who attend school.

Her main hardship is lack of capital. So recently, she has taken out a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to buy fertilizer for her field in order to increase its productivity. She plans to use the profit from this investment to develop her animal husbandry.

Doi hopes that her family will rise out of poverty and that her daughters will have good results at school.
