Lydia's story

Lydia is 27-years-old and a mother of a family. She lives in a rural village with her husband and their child.

Lydia is active and hard-working. She does several types of work to earn an income and ensure her family's basic needs. [For example,] she sells ready-to-wear clothes, raises cattle, and farms.

Lydia has been a client with Vahatra for several years. Thanks to this partnership, she is able to access sufficient financing to develop her work.

She needs this loan to farm tomatoes and beans. She has done this type of farming for three years, and she finds that it is profitable. She is going to use the money from the loan to buy the necessary farm inputs, such as seeds and fertilizer.

She sells her crops in a local market, at wholesale and at retail. Her family's living conditions have improved, and she wants to achieve sustained financial security.

Lydia est mère de famille, elle a 27 ans. Elle habite un village rural avec son conjoint ainsi que leur enfant. Elle est active et débrouillarde. Elle exerce plusieurs activités génératrices de revenu afin d’assurer les besoins fondamentaux de sa famille : elle vend des vêtements prêt à porter, pratique l’élevage bovin et exploite l’agriculture. Elle est un bon partenaire de VAHATRA depuis quelques années. Grâce au partenariat, elle peut avoir un capital financier suffisant pour développer ses activités. Elle a besoin de ce prêt pour la culture de tomates et d’oignons. Elle exerce ces types de culture depuis trois années et elle trouve que c’est rentable. Elle a besoins de ce prêt pour continuer la culture de tomates et pour la culture de haricots. Elle va utiliser l’argent du prêt dans l’achat des intrants nécessaires comme les semences et les engrais. Elle vend ses produits au marché local, en gros ou en détail.
