A loan helped a member to buy wool at wholesale.

Cariñositas De Callapa Group's story

The communal bank “Cariñositas de Callapa” is starting its 6th loan cycle with Pro Mujer. They meet in the Villa Copacabana central office. This group has 9 members, and is led by a board of directors of which Maribel is the president.

This loan will benefit all of the small-businesswomen in this group. Maribel currently has a business selling blankets. She came to know this business through her own initiative over a number of years.

This loan will be used for working capital. The funds will be used to buy wool at wholesale from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz. Later, Maribel will make the blankets and then sell them from her sales post. By working in this way, she is able to generate resources to support her family financially, as she is single and has 2 children.

In this group: Maribel Milenka , Willma, Antonia Veronica , Maria Nicolasa, Filomena Nancy , Rufina Amalia , Olga Teresa, Sonia, Soledad Fanny
