A loan helped to buy embroidery materials for her embroidery business.

Shazia's story

Shazia is a 38-year-old lady and mother of two children, both of whom attend primary school. Shazia is an artisan and has operated an embroidery workshop from her house for the past two years. She meets many of the household expenses with this business. She usually runs out of stock while doing embroidery, causing her orders to remain as works in process for a long period of time. This issue disturbs her, as customers complain if there is any delay, and she is at the risk of losing potential customers.

She has applied for a BRAC Pakistan loan to buy items necessary for doing embroidery. She will repay the loan with the income she generates. Her dream is to save money for her children's education.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
