A loan helped to buy a wheel barrow, bush knives, spades, axes, vegetables seedlings and fertilizers for her farming business.

Caroline's story

Caroline is a 45 year-old woman who is married with three children and lives in a rural community outside Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

She has a garden where she grows vegetables and root crops like cabbages, tomatoes and local potatoes that she can sell in her community and at the market to earn a living. She has been doing this for two years.

Caroline has requested a loan to pay for additional gardening tools such as a wheel barrow, bush knives, spades, axes, vegetables seedlings and fertilizers to be able to increase her production of vegetables and root crops to assist with her farming business.

She plans to use the profits from her sales to meet her family's weekly expenses and pay for her children's school fees.

She joined SPBD in 2015 to gain access to financial services.
