A loan helped to build pens destined for raising pigs.

Marilú's story

Marilu lives in the populated area of La Bermeja, Tabaconas district, San Ignacio province, Peru. Marilu, 38 years old, is a responsible and hard-working mother. She works raising pigs in the traditional way, to then sell them at the local market. In addition to this, she has a plot of coffee which she grows with her husband.

The loan will help her to improve her infrastructure, building brick and concrete pens to raise her pigs, and also to purchase the piglets to raise and fatten them so to have to sell them at better prices in the local market.

This mother's dream is to have a small pig farm so that with this income to give her children a higher education and to improve her house in her community and, with that, have a better quality of life for her entire family.
