Elena's story

Elena is a 47-year-old farmer form Cetireni village, Ungheni region, Moldova. She is married and has a daughter. Her husband Ion works as a constructor in Russia, and Elena tries to develop the farm at home, in Moldova.

She processes about two hectares of agricultural land, where she grows corn, sunflowers, and grapes. At her farm, she raises rabbits and poultry. Elena earns income from selling corn, sunflowers, and rabbits. She is happy to have an occupation at home, and she is not forced to go abroad to support herself.
