A loan helped to pay for clearing, tilling, seedlings, manure, weeding and farm tools.

Anna's story

She is married and blessed with seven children, with whom she lives in a five-bedroom apartment in Bamenda, North West Region, Cameroon. She has faced some challenges in life such as the death of loved ones, sickness, and accidents among family members.

She has been a GHAPE member since 1998 and has taken and successfully repaid seven loans.

With the new loan requested, she will pay for clearing, tilling, seedlings, manure, weeding and farm tools. She has a positive attitude that the activity will succeed because it’s an activity she has been doing for a number of years, and she has fertile soils and a ready market for her farm produce.

She says her activity will help the community enhance its food security and self-sufficiency. With the profit to be gotten from the loan, she will plough back some of it into her activity, support her husband to pay the children’s school fees, and support the general upkeep of the family.

She prefers getting a loan from GHAPE because the repayment schedule is moderate, it has low interest rates, and she gets business knowledge before receiving loans.

This loan is special because:

It is coupled with multi-faceted trainings to support the poorest in Cameroon.
