Rich's story

I was born and raised in the heart of bourbon country, Louisville, KY. My mom was an elementary school teacher, and single mother of three. Even though she never made much money, she made sacrifices to make sure that my brother, my sister and I always had what we needed. And though I lost her to a third battle with cancer when I was 20 years old, her spirit and work ethic continues to guide me.

Unfortunately, I was never the best student, so after receiving my high school diploma, my Mom placed my first year of college on her credit card. Another sacrifice (of the many) she made for me, that I still wish I could pay her back for today. To relieve her of some of this financial burden, I took a job at UPS working the graveyard shift (12 AM – 4AM). If you worked these hours, UPS granted tuition assistance, which we desperately needed. The work was hard, and the hours were unbearable, but eventually I graduated from the University of Louisville with my bachelor’s degree.

Since graduating, I’ve been lucky enough to travel the U.S. as a National Promotional Brand Manager. I picked up some valuable experience working for companies like; Samsung, Ford, Geico, Gatorade, Wheaties, Vitamin Water, etc. I enjoyed the travel and many of these positions paid very well, but I could not ignore my desire to harness this experience, and take it home to build something special. When the idea for this company hit me, I knew this was my chance to do something great.

Today, I am ecstatic to be spending 100% of my time building a company in my hometown, that’s meaningful to my community, and my family.
