A loan helped to buy produce to enable her husband to increase his vegetable business.

Ruqiya's story

Ruqiya is 27-year-old married woman with four children. She and her husband are shown in the photo with his vegetable cart.

Her husband sells vegetables. He buys fresh vegetables from the central bazaar and then hawks them from street to street. He knows his customers' needs and he is a reliable seller with five years of experience in the business.

He chose this business because it is profitable and brings a stable income. People use fresh vegetables every day and consider them healthy. Many national dishes are made of vegetables. Her husband wants to increase the stock on a daily basis so that he can have enough inventory to sell all day and can get maximum reward from his efforts.

Ruqiya applied for a loan so her husband can purchase more vegetables and thus increase his monthly turnover.

This will be her 3rd loan and she has a good repayment history.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
