A loan helped a borrower to fertilize and weed her coffee farm and to plant 1,000 plants intended for organic production.

Lidia's story

Lidia is 27-years old and lives in the village of Alto Tambillo, which is a small community of coffee growers on the outskirts of San Ignacio Province in Perú. Lidia's parents starting teaching her about farm work when she was a young girl. She lives with her son and her parents.
Lidia maintains her own plot of coffee plants, which produce excellent quality and flavor. She sells her produce to a local cooperative. Lidia dreams of increasing her coffee plot and saving to pay for her education so that she can give her family a better standard of living.
The loan will allow Lidia to maintain next year's production. She will fertilize, weed and plant more plants so that she can be sure of covering all her expenses and generating a surplus income so she can continue her studies.
Thanks to Coopac Norandino, Lidia already has experience taking out loans. She is aware that being prompt in her payments will give her access to better credit opportunities.
