A loan helped a member to purchase natural fertilizer for her rice farm.

Lai Group's story

Lai is a seller who lives in the village in Kampong Cham province of Cambodia. She is 43 years old and a mother of two children aged 14 and 20. Both of them are students. She has been operating her grocery store since 2010 to earn income for her family living, while her husband is a cashew farmer to aid the family income. This family can make around 15USD per day.

Because the weather condition is not good for farming, she has now formed a group of three members to request a group loan. She will use her portion to purchase natural fertilizer for her rice farm. She is confident that she will get higher profits. She will use her profits to purchase two more hectares of farmland, renovate her house, and support her children to get higher education.
