A loan helped to repair her son's Suzuki "carry daba" so he can continue his pick-up and drop-off business.

Najma's story

Najma is the responsible mother of one daughter and three sons. She lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. One of her son has been providing pick-up and drop-off services by driving a Suzuki "carry daba" for the last seven years. He is responsible for meeting the needs of the entire family.

Najma's son needs to do maintenance on his carry daba because its current condition is not good. Due to insufficient financial means, he has been unable to make the necessary repairs to his carry daba. Therefore, Najma has applied for a Kiva loan from its field partner BRAC Pakistan. With the help of this loan, Najma's son can afford the maintenance costs easily. In this way, he can provide better transport services to earn a good income. Najma also plans to save some of her son's profits to meet her family's needs in the future.

Najma and her son together stand in this photo in front of his carry daba. Najma is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
