A 55 year-old woman, Chantha is a married mother of nine children, only two of whom are studying in a local state school and they are still under her support. To support her family, she has been able to earn income by growing rice and working as a paid worker for 35 years in the Battambang province of Cambodia.
Chantha has been with VisionFund for seven cycles already and successfully paid back those previous loans. She is now leading this group of two members to apply for this new loan because she doesn't have sufficient capital to support her current farming. She is willing to use her portion of the loan to purchase organic fertilizer and seed and to pay for plowing her field to improve her crop’s productivity. Chantha believes she will gain a better income in order to upgrade her living situation.
