A loan helped to buy staple products and to set up a store.

María Cristabel's story

María studied through high school. She's single and lives with her mother, whom she helps financially.

María has worked growing corn for about 10 years. She learned the job from her father because she accompanied him to his fields from a young age. She also makes clothing and sells ice in her home. The place where she farms is a half-kilometer from her house, and her older brother helps her when he can.

Thanks to her previous Kiva loan she was able to invest in agriculture, and she's almost finished paying it back. She needs a new loan to buy staple products and set up a store.

María hopes her new business yields good results and she improves her quality of life.
