A loan helped a member to buy fertilizer to use on her family's coffee field.

Nham's Group's story

Nham, 43, is a Thai ethnic woman. She lives with her husband and son in Mai Son District, a part of Son La Province in Vietnam. The family grows coffee and corn on more than 5,000 square meters of land. Their income is just enough to cover their living expenses and save a small amount.

Nham and four others make up this group of borrowers applying for an 87,000,000 VND loan through Kiva's field partner M7-MFI to be apportioned among them. Nham will use her share to buy fertilizer to use on her family's coffee field, as her savings aren’t sufficient to buy enough.

Nham anticipates the loan will result in her coffee field yielding half as much again as from the previous harvest. She will work hard to repay the loan on time.
