Veatriz's story

Beatriz, 42, is a person who works in agriculture day after day in the community of Tiraque. She is in a common-law relationship. She stayed in school through elementary school due to limited financial resources. She is responsible for three economic dependents and she lives in her own house, which is a rustic building made of local material. The house has basic utilities.

Her business is agriculture, and she grows early season potatoes, corn, and oats for fodder. She grows it on approximately 2.5 hectares of land, which is irrigated by flooding.

Veatriz needs to request working capital to buy organic fertilizer (chicken manure) and potato seed. This will allow her to further improve her yield and thus be able to improve her family's standard of living.
