A loan helped a member to buy bean seeds for farming.

Jambar Ouarack Group's story

The Jambar Ouarack group is part of KOKI's Promotion of Women Group (GPF). The GPF consists of more than 1000 individual members, all of whom work as a network. The network's groups all live in one community of several villages, and all work in the fields of cattle farming and agriculture.

The Jambar Ouarack group has applied for this loan so that they can buy niébé bean seeds - which are frequently used in their daily work. This plant can be made into flour, boiled, fried as fritters, or made into couscous. It is also frequently used in the group's sauce recipes. It truly is a national delicacy!

This group consists of 10 women, all of whom regularly meet up at the end of each month. They are led by Daro (pictured above, raising her hand), who is single and has no children. She helps her mother pay for daily expenses and for her brother and sisters' schooling.

Daro plans to use any profits made from selling her crops to pay for daily expenses and to improve her family's general quality of life. Her goal for the future is to expand her farming land and overall production in order to increase her monthly income and to be able to establish some savings.

In this group: Daro , Fatoumata , Anta Ndary , Ndèye , Daba , Diama , Asta , Diama , Ndèye , Maguette
