A loan helped a member to buy seed.

Bartolina Sisa Group's story

The communal bank “Bartolina Sisa” will begin its fifth cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Centro Focal Copacabana. It comprises eight members and is directed by a board of directors where Elsa is the President.

The loan will benefit small micro-enterprises where Elsa is a member. Currently, she has a business selling quinoa. She says that she learned this business on her own initiative several years ago.

The loan she will take now will be for an increase of capital to buy seed that she will acquire from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz. After the planting and harvest, this will serve her as a means of production. This form of working allows her to generate income to support her family economically. She is single and has three children.

In this group: Elsa , Cristina, Alejandrina , Miguel, Ramiro , Wilda , Delia , Digna
