Suzanne's story

Suzanne lives in a rural district quite far from downtown. She is 33 and is raising her child by herself, since the father left. Suzanne raises livestock (pigs) and grows crops (vegetables, tubers). VAHATRA supports her plans. She takes out loan to develop her businesses.

This loan is indispensable to her for buying 80 kg of seeds, 5 cart loads of manure, and 20 kg of fertilizer for growing potatoes. The harvests are delivered to buyers. With the previous loan, she acquired a pig with the profits. Their living conditions are improving progressively in this partnership. She has a lot of experience in farming. Her goal is to have enough income to be financially self-sufficient.

Suzanne habite un quartier rural, très éloigné du centre-ville. Elle a 33 ans. Elle élève seule son enfant depuis que le père de famille a quitté leur foyer. Elle pratique l’élevage et l’agriculture. Elle cultive des légumes, des tubercules et élève aussi des porcs. VAHATRA soutient ses projets, elle contracte des prêts pour développer ses activités. Ce prêt lui est indispensable pour acheter 80 Kg de semences, cinq charrettes de fumier et 20 Kg d’engrais chimique pour la culture de pommes de terre. Elle livre ses récoltes aux collecteurs. Au prêt précédent, elle a acquis un porc avec les profits. Leur condition de vie s’améliore progressivement depuis le partenariat. Elle a beaucoup d’expérience dans l’agriculture. Son but est d’avoir un revenu suffisant et une autonomie financière.
