A loan helped impact Hub Accra improve its innovation and entrepreneurship centre through much-needed space and operations upgrades including the purchase of a high-quality generator for stable electricity during frequent power outages.

Impact Hub Accra's story

Job creation remains the single biggest challenge facing policymakers in Ghana. However, there’s new entrepreneurial energy across country. There’s a generation of entrepreneurs creating new opportunities and tackling some of the biggest social challenges of our times. These home-grown innovators operate in a mainstream market that often stifles innovation. To watch Impact Hub Accra's story visit https://youtu.be/VLvrjKPU-q4

Since 2013, Impact Hub Accra (IHA) has built a micro-innovation enclave with a focus on lifting these barriers so young entrepreneurs can thrive in the new digital economy. Support is three-fold:
Real Estate Cluster & Infrastructure Support
Curated Events
Acceleration & Access to Capital

This loan will enable IHA to purchase a 100kWa generator (to keep stable backup electricity since the national grid is unstable), facilitate productivity gains for entrepreneurs via space improvements (improved ventilation, ergonomic furniture) and attract and retain talent in line with their extensive ambition. IHA now needs to upgrade its support infrastructure to bring its impact to the next level.
