A loan helped a member to buy fertilizer and organic pesticide for her rice farmland.

Roeun's Group's story

Roeun, a farmer living in Takeo province, is 38 years old. She is the widowed mother of three children, two of whom are still in school.

She overcomes her family’s hardship via growing rice and selling grocery items to make extra income. She has farmed for 18 years, and she can keep about 4 USD as her saving per day.

The main challenge of her family’s farming is destruction by insects. This is Roeun’s fifth loan cycle with VisionFund and she has paid her past loans completely. The previous loans have helped her living conditions improve.

In a group of three members, she is the group leader. She will use her loan portion to purchase more fertilizer and organic pesticide to input on her rice farmland.

She hopes her farming can produce a better good output for her family than last year's.
