A loan helped a member to pay for sheep to sell in order to provide nice clothing and shoes for her children.

Amakene B Group's story

Fatouma Sagou is the woman standing in the photo and holding the sheep’s rope. She is Malian, 28 years old, and married to a farmer. They have three children (a girl and a two boys). For four years, she has been raising sheep, which she buys to fatten and resell.

She needs this loan to pay for many sheep for her business in order to increase revenues. Her purchases are made at the local fairs, where the sales are made too.

With the profits, she will be able to help out her family by covering the children’s medical costs and providing them new clothing and shoes from time to time. In the days to come, she would like to purchase a tricycle for the family.
