Determination Farmers Group's story

Isatu K (first from right) is an outstanding businesswoman in Moyorba village who has also raised a family of six. She works both as a farmer and a petty trader, supporting her whole extended family and helping other female farmers in the village access markets and inputs for their farming. In her own words "things are down after Ebola. But we are not giving up. We are determined to succeed and that is why we are the "Determination Farmers." Isatu has organized some of the best female farmers in her village, all of whom are currently trapped in a cycle of subsistence and take extremely high-interest loans for poor quality inputs during planting time. A low interest KIVA loan will therefore enable this group of determined women to get back on their feet and back in business.
