A loan helped a member to buy a boat for her fishing business.

Preap's Group's story

A rural villager living in Kandal province’s Kos Thom district, Preap is 48 years old and married with four children, two of whom are in school. She catches fish to sell in order to make a living. To earn extra income, she and her husband work as construction workers. Together, they can earn about 13 USD per day from the current business and manage to save 8 USD daily for future needs.

This is the second loan for Preap with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. She has used the previous loans very wisely to improve her household. Now she is leading her group to seek another loan. Preap will use her portion to buy a boat for fishing. She hopes to catch more fish to sell so as to earn a larger income to support her family.

In this group: Preap, Ang, Dany, Koemheang, Phalla, Se
