A loan helped our Founder create, test, and produce Trauma Camp's online content!

Julia Rose's story

I know firsthand how basic information about trauma can transform a person’s life. I was first introduced to the concept of trauma when I was 15 years old, and entering counseling for the first time. I was an underachieving, angry, self-hating, self-sabotaging, almost 200 lb. teenager who couldn’t even look at herself in the mirror. My counselor, who had studied with Peter Levine (a leader in the field of trauma), began helping me understand and express the multi-faceted impact that certain experiences had on my life. I finally had someone to witness my wounds.

Nearly fifteen years later, in the wake of monumental transformations in myself and throughout my family, I am now helping others do the same. As a mental health clinician (MFTI), I am utilizing my background in Counseling Psychology and Broadcast Journalism to now transmit this revolutionary science to teachers. Through trainings, consultation, and workshops, I now get to be the vessel for this information to be passed on to the next generation.

Not everyone gets a counselor... But everyone gets a teacher. Trauma Camp is here to help teachers witness their wounded.
