A loan helped a member to purchase natural fertilizer for her rice farm.

Sork Group's story

Sork is a rice farmer who lives in the village in Prey Veng province of Cambodia. She is 51 years old and a mother of three children aged from 16 to 25 years old. She has been cultivating rice to earn income for her family for over twenty years, while her husband is a construction worker. This family makes around USD 12 per day.

Because the weather conditions are not good for farming, Sork is now forming a group of four members to request for a group loan. She will use her portion to purchase natural fertilizer for her rice farm. She is confident that she will get higher profits. She will use her profits to expand her farm, renovate her house, and support her children to get a higher education.
