María Elena's story

María studied up to seventh grade. She is a single mother with five children who live with her; four of them are in school.

María has worked growing corn for four years. She does this work to generate income to raise her children because she does not have help from anyone. Her work day begins at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 noon. Her children help her in their free time.

María will use the loan to pay for labor and to buy inputs to grow corn. She is a single mother, and the with the profits from her work, she will get ahead with her children.

María dreams that all her children will graduate with a university degree and this loan will help her to begin to realize her dream.
