A loan helped a member to purchase a solar light and gain access to cost efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer to cultivate maize.

Linet's Group's story

Linet is a 36-year-old proud mother of six children. She is a group leader and is representing her group of 11 farmers from the Webuye Distrct. Linet is often described as a very friendly person. Since joining One Acre Fund in 2013, she has noticed that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Linet described her harvest as good last year but she believes she can have a better one this year by continuing to work with One Acre Fund.

Linet is requesting a loan to gain access to cost efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer to cultivate maize. She is very excited to also be purchasing a solar light along with fertilizer and seeds because she will now be able to have an overall improved quality of life. With the profits from this season’s harvest, Linet plans to buy a cow. With this loan, Linet’s Group will be able to plant a total of 3.75 acres of land and purchase seven solar lights.

In this group: Linet, Annety, Everlyne, Fridah, Mourine, Judith, Neddy, Beatrice, Douglas, Victor, Metrine
