Rosa is 30 years old and works her coffee plantation alongside her family: she has two school-aged children, the oldest of which is 14. She and her family live in Caserío San Francisco, a small farming community in the Chirinos province of San Ignacio that focuses on coffee production.
Rosa is a hard-working woman who wants to improve herself in order to help her family succeed. She is currently cultivating the 'catimor' and 'mundo novo' coffee varieties on her 1.25-hectare plot in the El Roble plantation. It is currently the season for fertilization of the plants, in order to increase the fruit size, thus improving the market value and revenue obtained from the crop.
Rosa is a member of the Finca Churupampa organization, which carries an organic certification, and says being a member has helped her improve her coffee production. She knows that investing her loan properly in purchasing fertilizer and fertilizing her plot will allow her to increase her production and improve the condition of her coffee plantation.
