Lowry's story

I grew up along the beautiful coast of Charleston, South Carolina. I didn't always know I wanted to be a hairstylist, but had many creative interests and impulses growing up. I wanted to be a writer, an artist, a dancer or *something* in the creative world. I fell into the hair industry after watching a few friends become hairstylists and saw how fun their work and lives were. It looked like a fascinating world and very exciting. They worked in cool NYC salons and absolutely loved their jobs, and the creativity and freedom it allowed them. I decided to try it out for myself and moved up to NYC to attend the Aveda Institute. On my first day I knew it was the right decision. I've worked in well known salons in NYC, in my hometown of Charleston, and now here in Portland OR, and every city has been a great experience for me. I would love to keep growing my business, and move into a better, larger space in the Portland area and perhaps expand to a retail-only beauty apothecary in the future, with an emphasis on products that are environmentally friendly and toxin free/non-cancer causing.
