A loan helped a member to purchase fertilizers for her coffee field.

Ang Nua 13 Group's story

Thien, 34 years old, is an ethnic Thai woman. She is pictured the first from the right above. She is married with two children: one is in grade 9, the other is in grade 4. She lives with her family in a traditional Thai stilt house in a poor village. Thien has had to work several different jobs for a living, including growing coffee. She often faces challenges like diseases, which can make a coffee crop fail, or bumper crops, which can lower the price at which she can sell her coffee. For these reasons, her income is not stable. However, she tries to improve her coffee productivity.

This time, she has taken a loan from Anh Chi Em to purchase fertilizers for her coffee field. She plans to use the profit from selling coffee to reinvest in coffee and raise pigs and chickens.

Thien hopes her two children will do well in school in order to have the chance to get good jobs in the future.
