Ruth's story

Forty-seven-year-old Ruth is such a hard working mother of 10 children, married and she lives in Kyenjojo, Uganda. She is a farmer and she has a tea and banana plantation that she has owned for the last 13 years. She is responsible for educating her children, carrying out farming activities and taking care of orphans that also live in her home. Her personal dream is to educate her children up to university and buy more land for commercial farming to increase her farm output so that she can become a model farmer for her community. However, she is challenged by the pests and diseases that affect her plantation. Ruth is requesting a loan facility to buy farm inputs like fertilizers and pay workers at her farm.
