A loan helped to expand her agriculture business by growing more vegetables, like cauliflower, potato, tomato, etcetera.

Kanta's story

Thirty-year-old Kanta, an aspiring entrepreneur, is a native of Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh. She runs a farm where she cultivates several kinds of vegetables. Monthly, she earns INR 3,500 by selling these vegetables in the market. She is a mother of two children, both of whom are receiving the school-level education. Their monthly household income is INR 12,000, and they wish to save up for the future. But this income is clearly not sufficient to educate their children and to spend for the household's current needs. For this reason, she has decided to expand the business by growing more varieties of vegetables, like cauliflower, potato, tomato, fenugreek, aubergine, etcetera. She has requested a loan amount of INR 15,000 from Prayas, a field partner of Milaap. This can help her improve her lifestyle by selling the vegetables in the local market. She is grateful to her lenders.
