Ny is a rice farmer who lives in the Kampong Cham province of Cambodia. She is a 46-year-old mother of three children between the ages of 13 to 20. One of them is a student. She has been cultivating rice since 2000 to earn income for her family while her husband is a construction worker to aid the family income. This family can make around 16.50 USD per day.
Because the weather conditions are not good for farming, she is now a part of a group of two members to request a group loan that she will use her portion of to purchase natural fertilizer for her rice farm. She is confident that she will get higher profits. She will use her profits to rent four more hectares of farmland to cultivate rice and support her child to receive higher education.
