Parveen's story

Parveen is a 30-year-old working woman. She’s the mother of three children and lives with her family in the village of Multan, Pakistan. Her husband is a worker in a power loom factory and his income is not too much. She is very skilled in the art of hand embroidery and has been using this skill for many years to earn a living. She can make beautiful designs and patterns. Her talent is known all over the area and her designs are much in demand. This is how she manages her household expenses. She also stitches clothes after making beautiful embroidery patterns at the request of her customers.

To help her continue her business, she has requested a loan of PKR35,000 from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan. She plans to purchase cloth, design patterns, pearls, etc. for future benefit. In the picture she is displaying her embroidery work.

Parveen is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.
