A loan helped to cover the expenses of an urgent medical visit for his mother, who had a paralytic stroke.

Orion's story

Orion is a 33-year-old man who lives in a small city in southeastern Albania. His big family is made up of six other members: his wife and their two little children, his parents and his brother. They all live together in a small house.

He and his brother work in construction and earn $230 per month each. His family owns 15 dynyms of agricultural land where his parents plant wheat for the family's consumption and fodder and beans to sell, making an annual profit around $1,100. They give 4 dynyms of land on lease for $90/year.

Recently, Orion’s mother suffered a paralytic stroke and she urgently needs a medical visit in the capital city. Today Orion is requesting a loan because he needs to cover these expenses.

This loan is special because:

It supports populations in a country where financing options are scarce.
