Aifmanikin Group's story

Iwalde is a 33-year-old woman, and a mother of four children from her marriage with Atrianus (42) a mini-truck driver. Three of her children are still enrolled in school.

Iwalde is running a kiosk business at home. This business is quite profitable to support her family's needs. In addition, Iwalde has been involved in a weaving business for the last year. Like most women in her village, she has skill at traditional weaving so the skill can help her in making more income.

With her own capital amounting to IDR 2,000,000 she initiated the business by buying some various colors of yarn. She has a weaving women's group. They work together for good quality weaving, selling it and sharing the profit among the group members.

Iwalde was thinking of buying more various colors of yarn as she thought that this is a good chance for her to help other people and to increase her income as well. Therefore, along with her eight friends who also need a loan for their businesses, they formed Aifmanikin group and then applied for a loan amounting to IDR 2,000,000 for each woman from TLM, Kiva's partner.
