Laxmi's story

The land of handicraft saris and embroidery clothes - Jaipur, India, is also home to 31-year-old Laxmi. She manages the household with an income of INR 7,000. However, with the increased cost of living and the determination to lead a better life, she has decided to start her own handicraft business which is a lucrative business avenue.

Laxmi is seeking a loan of INR 30,000 from Milaap's field partner Apani Sahkari Sewa Samiti, through which she will be purchasing threads, needles, etc and other things that she needs to get herself started. According to her plans, their monthly income will see an increment of INR 800. She is hopeful that this small increment will help her better her conditions.
