A loan helped to purchase a new winter collection of lingerie and meet her client’s demands.

Zeinab's story

Zeinab is 50-year-old Lebanese woman who lives with her husband and one child in an undeveloped area in the mountains of Lebanon. Her husband is the main income provider in the family; he is a carpenter and works very hard to fulfill the family’s daily needs.

Zeinab decided to open her own business in 2012 to support her husband. She opened a lingerie shop in her town where she provides her clients with good quality lingerie at fair prices.

Today, Zeinab is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva's partner, Vitas s.a.l., to purchase a new winter collection of lingerie and meet her client’s demands. She says that this is her seventh loan and she is always eager to borrow more loans in the future to enhance her work and support her family.

This loan is special because:

It empowers women in a country where most businesses are owned or run by men.
