Kheng's story

Kheng is a farmer. She is 62 years old and resides in the Kbal Hong Thmei Village, Lvea Leu Commune, Chamkar Leu District, Kampong Cham Province. She is the mother of five children. Kheng and her husband earn an income from farming. They have been involved in this business about 15 year now with an average income of 12.50 per day.

As the explanation above, KHENG is cultivation cassava on her farmland. The income that her family receives is less than she wishes. Now she is applying for a loan from KIVA through HKL, to invest in her farming business by buying more seeds and also support in cultivation. This loan will help Kheng to improve her standard of living by increasing income from this career. This is the first loan cycle for her with KIVA and after this loan, Kheng plans to build a new house for her children and wants to have her own farmland because the land that she is operating today is hired from another owner.
