A loan helped to purchase a new car to facilitate her transportation when she is visiting her students so she can increase her number of students and always be on time.

Maysaa's story

Maysaa is a 31-year-old Lebanese divorced woman who lives with her parents and one child in an undeveloped area in the mountains of Lebanon. After her divorce, she returned to live in her parents’ house, where her father is the main income provider of the family. Due to the bad financial situation in the country and the fact that she is living with her old parents, she decided to cooperate with her father to be able to pay expensive school fees and to provide the family with basics needs.

She started her own home-based business in 2016 as a private teacher. She opened a small room and equipped it with all the needed tools to receive students and offer them a good study environment. Recently, she began visiting her students upon their request.

Today, she is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to purchase a new car to facilitate her transportation when she is visiting her students so she can increase her number of students and always be on time.

She said that this is her third loan, and she is very eager to borrow more loans in the future to open her own educational center and offer to all the children of her town a good educational path.

This loan is special because:

It provides low-income students with access to higher education funding.
