A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve maize harvests.


Emily's Group's story

Emily is 43 years old and, as the group leader of her group, she is representing 6 farmers in Teso District. She is looking forward to be working with One Acre Fund for the first time this year, as this means she will have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods.

Emily has been a farmer for 17 years and is often described as a very trustworthy person. She decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. With the profits she earns from this coming season, Emily would like to buy a cow.

Between the 6 farmers in Emily’s Group, a total of 3.75 acres will be planted using the inputs from this loan and purchase a total of 4 solar lights.
